Having been a course trainer (speech and drama, conversational Malay, etc) with a reputable Singapore company, Lydia Rahman’s other vast experiences as a writer, personal tutor, relief teacher and guest workshop conductor make her the perfect choice for schools/organisations looking for an established young educator to relay the true message of Life and Education in an innovative, fresh way.
And although she does well to engage with her young students at their level, Lydia Rahman’s inimitable writings (like Pantun Temasek) are testament to her credibility and seriousness in ensuring participants of her workshops and courses walk away at the end of the programme benefiting holistically with a whole new perspective on life.

What can we say, Lydia Rahman is definitely The Next Big Thing in the aural media to watch out for. Or listen out for, rather.
Blessed with a “sultry, bassy voice” that’s “made for radio” according to a couple of veterans in broadcasting, Lydia Rahman commands attention and respect whenever she hits the mike. Do click here to listen to samplings of her voice at its rawest. You will be impressed!
Her involvement in broadcasting started way back when she was 13, when she intensely observed the industry alongside dabbling in some informal radio work. She has since attended the famed Radio Academy, picked up pointers from amongst the best and constantly hangs out with respected figures in broadcasting (both local and overseas) especially during their shifts to experience and understand the intricacies of the broadcasting industry.
Lydia Rahman also successfully conducted her first hour-long ‘live’ solo show on Johor FM (known as Radio Malaysia Johor then) in 2004, spinning her eclectic collection of Malay favourites as well as airing pre-recorded programmes and taking live calls from listeners. During her Law school days, she was known as an exceptional ’live’ producer/ presenter on the National University of Singapore’s official radio station, Radio Pulze, with the successes of her own show Blackcurrant Affairs (2 semesters) and the station’s forum series Red Dot Forums under her belt.
Lydia Rahman very possibly invented the term ‘effectively bilingual’, as she is able to communicate oh-so-effectively in both English and Malay and seamlessly code-switches between both to the desired effect.
On top of that, she is even versatile enough to play a whole spectrum of different characters in radio plays (just as she does on stage) and radio commercials (Pantun Temasek) - from the manja (affectionate) wife to the stern mother to the mad witch-type characters.
Needless to say, Lydia Rahman’s extensive stage involvement during her school days (as playwright, director, actress and host/emcee) has equipped her with an incredibly smooth and polished ability to emcee events both fun and serious - she is deferential and classy when it comes to formal events, and will be energetic and witty for entertainment events. Such is her finesse, hiring Lydia Rahman as your event emcee only makes your event a complete success!
In the realm of photography, she lets her pictures do the talking… please write us for samples of Lydia Rahman’s photography.
